W piątek, 27 stycznia 2023 roku w Akademii Kultury Społecznej i Medialnej w Toruniu studenci kierunku Dziennikarstwo i Komunikacja Społeczna uczestniczyli w warsztatach praktycznych z zakresu Dziennikarstwa współczesnego. Spotkanie na temat rzetelnego dziennikarstwa w epoce nowych mediów poprowadził red. Michał Karnowski – dziennikarz, publicysta i komentator polityczny.

W trakcie warsztatów praktykanci dowiedzieli się m. in. czym charakteryzuje się dobry dziennikarz, co go wyróżnia od media worker’a oraz jak wygląda jego praca w redakcji.

,,Dziennikarstwo jest zawodem specyficznym, to styl życia. Ważne jest to, aby dziennikarz wiedział, co chce sobą reprezentować i nie był obojętny’’ – zaznaczył red. Michał Karnowski, tłumacząc, dlaczego zawód ten wymaga szczególnej samodyscypliny i pracy nad sobą, aby móc być dziennikarzem o silnym kręgosłupie moralnym, w dodatku bardzo odpornym psychicznie.

Dzisiaj dziennikarze są identyfikowani również jako osoby pełniące funkcje publiczne, dlatego muszą być przygotowani na regularną krytykę.

Media i portale społecznościowe mają stać się jednym z narzędzi w pracy dziennikarza, a nie jego głównym źródłem informacji. Dlatego wydawca powinien próbować wnikać w platformy, które rejestrują najwięcej użytkowników, a nie stawać się ich niewolnikiem.

Studenci podczas warsztatów uczyli się także o tym, jak szybko i skutecznie organizować pracę zespołu redakcyjnego w przypadku głośnych wydarzeń na rynku informacyjnym oraz w sytuacji ich braku.

,,Każdy dziennikarz musi szczególnie i aktywnie pracować nad zbieraniem kontaktów. Powinien posiadać zdolność przełamywania siebie i budowania networków tzw. sieci informacji’’ – powiedział red. Michał Karnowski.

Warsztaty miały na celu przygotować przyszłych, młodych dziennikarzy do pracy, zarówno w redakcjach, jak i w terenie podczas zbierania materiałów do tworzenia wiarygodnych, ciekawych, a przede wszystkim zgodnych z prawem publikacji.

Na koniec spotkania red. Michał Karnowski podzielił się swoim doświadczeniem zawodowym w branży dziennikarskiej, odpowiadając na liczne pytania studentów.
